I get this error on GNOME 3.10:

** (gnome-pomodoro:12617): CRITICAL **: main.vala:65: Unable to acquire bus name 'org.gnome.Pomodoro'

Any ideas what might be wrong?

It means there is already a pomodoro service running, either gnome-pomodoro and that's expected, or an old extension.

Which indicator in GNOME Shell do you see:

  • old one with "Options" expander
  • new one with "Preferences" ?

Remove pomodoro@arun.codito.in from ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions if you have and restart GNOME Shell (Alt + F2, type "r").

Do you have a new indicator at this point?

I should change that error message ;)

You're right, I had another instance running without realizing it. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks for the help!

Hi Kamilprusko, I have the same problem, I did try remove pomodoro@arun.codito.in from ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions, but the folder dosn't exist, actually I use ubuntu 14.04 with Unity.
