Driver for (some) Brother laster printers

This fork of pdewacht/brlaser provides a couple of fixes to make brlaser compile under FreeBSD.

Most Brother printers support a standard printer language such as PCL or PostScript, but not all do. If you have a monochrome Brother laser printer (or multi-function device) and the other open source drivers don't work, this one might help.

It is known to support these printers:

  • Brother DCP-7030
  • Brother DCP-7055
  • Brother DCP-7065DN

To Compile

Run the following:

  • ./autogen.sh
  • ./configure
  • make
  • make install

If you get the following errors under FreeBSD:

  • /brlaser-master/src/main.cc:68: undefined reference to `libiconv_open'
  • /brlaser-master/src/main.cc:78: undefined reference to `libiconv'
  • /brlaser-master/src/main.cc:84: undefined reference to `libiconv_close'

Edit the Makefile and replace

  • LIBS =
  • by LIBS = -liconv

You may need to install some dependencies (complete gcc, autoconf, etc.)
