With the button located at the end of table, our users complain about having to scroll horizontally to get to it. Come to think of it, wouldn't it be better usabilitywise to have it below the table, as some other buttons are?

@petri petri changed the title from move the "add new row" button below the table to move the "add new row" button below the table? Aug 25, 2014

Any comments? Besides horizontal scrolling, one has to scroll vertically, to either beginning or the end of table. Some users even miss the button completely in its current position.

IMHO, moving it to non-scrolling part of the view would be a clear usability improvement.

Need to check. Are you using the DataTables plugin or you are talking of the plain table?

Using the plugin. Not sure what difference it makes?

the DataTable plugin and the row grouping ones are changing the page layout.

Thanks for the image! Now I got it. The duplicate button here is wrong, it's probably related to the label/row group feature that you are not using in this example (at the end of every group you have a "+" button).

OK, probably I misunderstood you image: this is not what you get, but a proposal about what it can be, isn't it? I never see two "add" images in the same table, or I'm badly trying to reproduce.

Yes, this is s proposal - sorry, I should've been more clear. I added some clarifications in the image description in the above comment, for what it's worth.

I've also realized - through end user comments - that neither the per-row select box on the left nor the per-row action buttons on the right should scroll horizontally together with the columns holding actual content. Perhaps that should be another issue though.
