Unable to approve education request #169625
-
Hi everyone,I am a high school student hoping to get the Student Developer Pack. However, every time I apply for the Student Developer Pack, I keep getting unable to verify your academic affiliation along with a bunch of reasons. Unfortunately, my school does not provide an ID or a school email. And here are the reasons I've received as to why I'm denied.
I'd greatly appreciate any help or additional methods to try and get the Student Developer Pack. Thank you! |

It's these stupid AI bots that review these github education requests and reject them. I've applied for it over a dozen times and they always reject me. Github if you see this, please fix this stupid AI bot. |

Hi @Jumanah26 It looks like your application documents don’t meet GitHub’s verification criteria. Why The Documents Being Denied1. Full Legal Name Mismatch GitHub requires the name on your profile (and billing info) to exactly match your academic document. Even small differences — like missing a middle name, using nicknames, or different order — can cause rejection. 2. School Email or Info Issues They don’t have a school email or ID. If the school has no campus in their country or the email/campus info in GitHub’s database doesn’t match, GitHub flags it. This is worse if the document doesn’t clearly say the school name and location. 3. Incomplete Document Details
4. Document Upload Problems They said they couldn’t upload in recent attempts. Without uploading a valid, legible document, GitHub can’t verify. What You Should Try NextCreate a Combined PDF If multiple documents are needed (e.g., transcript + enrollment letter), merge them into one PDF that shows:
Ask School for an Enrollment Verification Letter Even without an ID card or school email, schools can issue an official letter on school letterhead with:
Match Your GitHub Profile Exactly Update your GitHub billing info and profile name to exactly match the document. Then log out, log in, and reapply. Include Translation if Needed If your document is not in English, attach a translated version with both original and translation in the same file. Contact GitHub Support Before Reapplying If your school’s info is missing or wrong in GitHub’s database, submit a support ticket explaining and attaching proof. |

Hey @Jumanah26 👋 I would recommend you try applying again using the original evidence (certification?). Is this school you are applying with an online school or you close to campus? |

Hi @Jumanah26
It looks like your application documents don’t meet GitHub’s verification criteria.
Here’s what’s going on and what you should do:
Why The Documents Being Denied
1. Full Legal Name Mismatch
GitHub requires the name on your profile (and billing info) to exactly match your academic document. Even small differences — like missing a middle name, using nicknames, or different order — can cause rejection.
2. School Email or Info Issues
They don’t have a school email or ID. If the school has no campus in their country or the email/campus info in GitHub’s database doesn’t match, GitHub flags it. This is worse if the document doesn’t clearly say the school name and location.
