I am adding this umbrella ticket to capture the past conversations on UDFs and to collect user feedback on desired UDF support.

Past discussions on adding UDF support in general:
#258
#550

Discussions on specific UDFs:
#527
#525
#474
#400
#306

Also: If you can't wait for built-in UDF support, we published a blog post at https://www.confluent.io/blog/write-user-defined-function-udf-ksql/ that describes a workaround until UDFs are directly supported.
