It currently makes a connection to Google servers. It's only an HTTP GET to check for internet access so it's a very minor issue, and the main reason to change it would be making people feel more comfortable.

Changing this might actually be worse than leaving it alone. It would make the device more identifiable as a CopperheadOS device. Perhaps it would be best to simply offer the option of disabling the internet connectivity check and assume that there is always internet access if there's network access in that case.
