It appears that this is fixed. I've verified that it works on the Galaxy S4 and Nexus 9 so far.

It's possible that this is an issue specific to the Nexus 5, so it should be verified there too.

This appears to be a problem introduced by CyanogenMod, as it should work fine in AOSP.
