About this fork

This is a fork of an automatic google code export. There did exist multiple exports, none of them by the original author as far as I could see. I simply used the oldest export I could find.

This fork restructures the project into a Gradle based Android Studio project. More fixes or enhancements might be added based on our needs. However I am happy to move this repository over to whomever is more qualified to maintain it. This is basically just a scratch our own itch fork.

Original README follows

OpenMXPlayer Audio player for Android http://www.pocketmagic.net

The source code can be obtained at http://code.google.com/p/openmxplayer-android/

This is a port of the "OpenMXPlayer" open source library to Android platform.

OVERVIEW

The project contains two modules: - OpenMXPlayer - the library, the "decoder" - OpenMXPlayerDemo - a simple project that illustrates how to use the player library, the "player"

The "decoder" module contains the Java code used for wrapping the underlying decoding algorithms (which is currently based on MediaCodec but it could be easily changed).

The "player" module is an example how to use the "decoder" library in your project.

INSTALLING

Requirements: - Android SDK - at least platform 16 (Android 4.1 / JellyBean)

Compiling:

1) open the "decoder" and the "player" projects in your Android IDE and compile it

3) install the APK on the emulator or a device:
    adb install OpenMXPlayerDemo.apk

USING THE OpenMXPlayer LIBRARY FOR OTHER PROJECTS

Preparing:

You must copy both Java JAR to your project's "libs" directory:

    $ cp -R OpenMxPlayer/libs <your_android_project>/libs

Using:

Please look at the example activity using the decoder
