Two problem occurred when I attempted to build with GNUstep according to the directions in BUILDING.md. SETUP.md had no issues.
The patch file failed and the environment for GNUstep did not initialize.
When I ran make as indicated the GNUSTEP_MAKEFILES could not be found. I ran the shell script again and tried again with the same result. I source the script and got a different message. I checked my env variables and no GNU* variables were set.
[TouchDB-iOS]$ make OPTFLAGS= debug=yesGNUmakefile:4: /common.make: No such file or directory
GNUmakefile:139: /framework.make: No such file or directory
GNUmakefile:140: /tool.make: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/tool.make'. Stop.
I would like to get this working, so any suggestions are appreciated.
Also, the shell script GNUstep.sh needs mode changed to include a+x.
Hi — It's been a while since I've looked at the GNUstep build (I think since April) so I'm not surprised there's been some bit-rot. From what you're saying, it seems that there may have been recent updates/changes to GNUstep that invalidate my build instructions.
I honestly don't know if/when I'll get a chance to look at this — I have my hands full with iOS. The GNUstep port was for a potential customer project that didn't materialize, so I haven't kept it up. It would be great if someone could take ownership of it and get it working again; I don't know if you'd be interested in that? I'd definitely offer help/advice.
