Alright, I got post-receive hook working. Now if you promise to play nice I can give you commit access and commits will go live instantly. But bad commits will break the server, so it might not be a responsibility you want. Either way, I can just click on "merge pull request" and it's published. :)
Ok, just be sure to test any changes before pushing live. I do have an upstart script, so it should auto-restart once you fix any errors, but no downtime is obviously best.
Oops, I accidentally made howtonode.org offline for about a minute. Hopefully not too many people noticed. I'm trying to get another IP address on the machine so that luvit.io (my experimental site) isn't the same node process as howtonode.org.
