I purchased thru playstore, I am about to purchase again through website because I believe in what you guys are doing is both difficult writing and managing this code, and it is very important. I know my $26 isn't enough to put good food on your tables, but I can afford that on fixed income and I have no ability to code, not lazy it's cognitive issues.

I might be able to build app, if had computer, which I plan to in next 3-6mo, after being on phone only for near 3 yrs now it will be nice. But even building for self is looking pretty complicated, needing gCloud account and such, I can't afford all that so I humble self and come here to beg you to stop ignoring this project for Android users. I say ignore because there are many issues but no response here.

There are some very crucial and basic function that have been teased to us for years, that iPhone uses have been enjoying for over a year even, do they provide more income for their version of app purchases? how about the dozens of fixes and improvements in the free version given to Windows, Linux and Mac users, do they provide more income than the $10 each for Android users? (not Corp/biz, just users). is that fair to folks who have to purchase to use it at all on their phone?

it is marketed as cross platform, this includes Android, yet this part of the entire cryptomator project seems fallen far behind and personally I grow very concerned with modern threat that there might be great risk using app for security, privacy encryption needs that has no release in 9mo, latest is beta testing for 8mo and Dev seems absent to respond to anyone or anything on GitHub issues and playstore comments.

I don't expect answers, they should be questions devs are asking themselves.

I am not meaning to sound like bitching and whining, nor insulting in any manner, nor condescending, if you feel that from me please accept my sincere apology, as it may seem that way due my combat injuries and related disabilities. I am sorry.

but I think your users, eh, customers if Android, deserve updates and a project that is secure as well feature rich when you put it in the $10 app bracket on playstore. it is very disheartening to see app release 175 from May 22 and beta 180 from June 22 and see all the work done on main project, even see pulls and commits and activity here but nothing happens to GitHub releases nor updates for Android at playstore, even on website, not 10 but 16$ and vs175?

guys, I truly appreciate you all and this old soldier has thank you from my heart. seriously. but you must catch this paid version app up with main project Dev or be straight with users and say unless massive helpers step up add pitch in then this Android vs is gonna die. or whatever it may be. just let us know something.

please be well ❤️‍🩹
thank you 🙏💝👍

I agree with some of your statements and disagree with others.

main...release/1.8.0 started a very large refactoring to use the current Android SDK, and added features like reproducible builds, a flavour for the F-Droid main repository, etc. In the meantime, some bug fixes have been added, but most importantly, this version still contains a bug, which is why we have not yet shipped it as a release version. At the same time we are a compact team, unfortunately 1.8.0 was not finished in the available time window, but Android is definitely not deprecated, we will focus on it soon and fix the bug in 1.8.0 and then finally ship the release version.
The 431 changed files with 7,684 additions and 5,206 deletions in version 1.8.0 is a lot, unfortunately we couldn't keep the patch smaller due to the aforementioned Android SDK refactoring, but I want to show that we are working on Android and that the project is as important to us as our other platforms.

It's always a balancing act, when we're working on one thing we can't work on another at the same time. I can promise you that we are very careful not to waste resources and try to be very conscious of how we use them and how we balance all of our projects and platforms.

We will continue to focus on our Android app as well. We haven't forgotten about it and are working hard every day to improve the Cryptomator tools.

thank you for update, and I do understand, I needed some assurance though because if I'd purchased second license thru website I'd be livid to see it not released with no mentions, conversation, blogs nor comments or replies anywhere.

please be well ❤️‍🩹
I truly appreciate ✊🪖❤️‍🔥✌️
