Title: New overlay, new home Author: Ian Moone <gentoo AT chaoslab.org> Content-Type: text/plain Posted: 2018-06-01 Revision: 4 News-Item-Format: 2.0 The "frabjous" overlay changed its name and moved to a new home at GitLab.com. As a results of that, from now on the "frabjous" overlay will no longer be maintained and will be removed from Gentoo's repository list in 30 days (end of June). The new overlay, "chaoslab" , was approved and it is available to be fetched by tools like app-eselect/eselect-repository and app-portage/layman. If you have configured the old overlay manually, you must remove all its entries, which probably includes the "frabjous.conf" at /etc/portage/repos.conf and the directory where the repository resides. To manually configure the new overlay, clone the repository and create "/etc/portage/repos.conf/chaoslab.conf" with the following contents: [chaoslab] priority = 50 location = /path/to/local/chaoslab-overlay sync-type = git sync-uri = https://gitlab.com/chaoslab/chaoslab-overlay.git auto-sync = Yes If you have installed automatically, either with app-eselect/eselect-repository or app-portage/layman, please do the following. With eselect-repository: eselect repository remove frabjous eselect repository enable chaoslab With layman: layman -d frabjous layman -fa chaoslab Now, you can continue to use the overlay as usually. My sincere apologies for the all inconveniences. If you have any inquiries, please feel free to contact by opening an issue at the new repo or by an e-mail.
