A short test program which was built using this package fails, and so does a more complex application.

See tesseract-ocr/tesseract#1625 for more details.

Ping @yselkowitz. Is there any chance to get an update for the mingw*-icu packages?

ICU doesn't support cross-compiling ootb, so an extensive patch is required. I had been getting that from Fedora, and they have not rebased their mingw-icu for some time.

The package is still broken, so closing this issue looks like a bad idea.

I'll send a pull request – either for a fix with the old version or for a new version.

Please try pull request #2. Cross compiling only requires a small patch and should work in the next release out of the box.

@yselkowitz, how can we go on with this issue? I'd like to help getting it fixed and already have sent a pull request. What else can I do?

I'd also like to add new ports for the Leptonica library and could provide pull requests for that as well. How should that be done? Can you add empty repositories for Leptonica?

I have to have time to actually build it, and I'm way behind at the moment. I'll get to it when I can.

The test program works with the latest version 64.2, see pull request #2.

@yselkowitz, I have uploaded Cygwin binary and source packages for testing mingw64-i686-icu and mingw64-x86_64-icu 64.2 at https://qemu.weilnetz.de/test/cygwin/local.
