I'm using cython with cmake in my project. There are several solutions to determine pyx file dependencies. They all parse source files with regular expressions using cmake like that:

I'd like to implement it as distinct tool.
Could it be useful to make cython compiler do this? Some kind of "gcc -M" behavior.

This could get implemented, sure. But in the end, generated dependency lists always get outdated.

You could also just blindly call cythonize $(find -name "*.pyx") and see which .c files it regenerates.
