Ideally mrepo should know about all packages available from other repositories so that it doesn't need to download already available packages, eg. 64bit includes a lot of 32bit packages. Available ISO images may already include a large part of RPM packages also available from RHN update channels. We could save a lot on bandwidth and storage if we do better.

The problem I've found when I investigated this aspect on my repositories (CentOS 5 official ones, plus EPEL and some custom ones) is that many 32bit packages from 64bit repos are binary equivalent to the 32bit ones, but many aren't (probably cause of the build timestamp in the RPM)

I.e., from my findings, package libpng-devel-1.2.10-7.1.el5_7.5.i386.rpm from CentOS5-updates aren't binary identical.
