  • cloudera::hbase - Installs hbase

How to use

Its best to install with the current role definition. Create a file roles/cloudera.rb

name "cloudera"
description "Install Oracle Java on Ubuntu and Cloudera"

default_attributes(
  :java => {
     :oracle => {
       "accept_oracle_download_terms" => true
     },
     "remove_deprecated_packages" => false
   }
)

override_attributes(
  "java" => {
    "install_flavor" => "oracle"
  },
  "cloudera" => {
    "installyarn" => false
  }
)

# todo - replace basic by aoe common recipe
run_list(
    "recipe[java]",
    "recipe[cloudera]",
    "recipe[cloudera::flume]",
    "recipe[cloudera::pig]",
    "recipe[cloudera::hbase]"
)

You may want to use it with a Vagrant vbox. Create a Vagrantfile like this:

# -*- mode: ruby -*-
# vi: set ft=ruby :
Vagrant::Config.run do |config|
    config.vm.box = "precise64"

    config.vm.box_url = "http://files.vagrantup.com/precise64.box"

    config.vm.network :hostonly, "192.168.33.10"

    config.vm.provision :chef_solo do |chef|
       chef.cookbooks_path = "cookbooks"
       chef.roles_path = "roles"
       chef.add_role "cloudera"
     end

  #   chef.validation_client_name = "ORGNAME-validator"
  config.vm.customize ["modifyvm", :id,"--memory", "2048"]
end
