Connect DAppNode via Wireless interface

By default DAppNode is connected via ethernet and uses first available wireless interface as a hotspot, so it can't be used to connect it. If you want to use such interface to connect your DAppNode follow this steps.

Install requirements

Assuming you have connected DAppNode via ethernet, install the required packages:

sudo apt update
sudo apt install -y iwd iw

Identify interface

Grab the wireless interface name with the following command:

# docker logs DAppNodeCore-wifi.dnp.dappnode.eth 2>/dev/null | grep "Attaching"

Attaching interface wlp2s0 to container

So the interface name would be wlp2s0 in this case.

Configure interface

Configure the interface adding the lines in /etc/network/interfaces:

allow-hotplug wlp2s0
iface wlp2s0 inet dhcp
 wpa-ssid MyWifiNetwork
 wpa-psk s:MyPassw0rd

The wpa-ssid specifies the network name (SSID) The wpa-psk line should be s: followed by the password itself.

Also, comment out any ethernet section if you want to disable it:

# The primary network interface
# allow-hotplug enp0s31f6
# iface enp0s31f6 inet dhcp

Reboot

After rebooting, the DAppNode should be connected via wireless interface.

You can’t perform that action at this time.
