I cannot reproduce the issue with the Sparks movie or with any other 4K trailer I have. This movie seems to be a short clip from the Star Wars tv series (so if you feel unconfortable with the legality of the same, please disregard this message).
The memory spikes happen after several loops (3-5 mins of looping) where the cache does not respect the Gb maximum and climbs to swallow eventually all the memory.
There seems to be no issues while playing the movie on the old mrViewer at least on Linux.
