DXU Desktop 2.1.3
DXU Desktop 2.1.3 is now available. It includes one minor enhancement and addresses one important defect.

Enhancements
- 123113 - Added a link to the online documentation next to the "Include unmodified changes" checkbox in DXU Desktop. This checkbox has implications that should be carefully considered.
Compatibility
- For use on PC’s running Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7.
- For use with DL-Axist, Joya Touch Android, Skorpio X4 Android, Skorpio X4 WEC7, Falcon X4 Android, Falcon X4 WEC7, Memor 1, Memor 10, Memor 20.
- For use with Falcon X3+ CE6, Skorpio X3 CE6 on USBLAN only (required 2.30 fw version).
- For WEC7 devices, DXU Desktop v2.0.0 and firmware version 1.70 are fully compatible. Earlier versions of either DXU or firmware may result in unexpected behavior.
- WEC7 DXU files created prior to firmware version 1.70 can still be applied to WEC7 devices, but can no longer be modified in DXU 2.0 or newer.
- Older versions of DXU Desktop used with WEC7 firmware v1.70 or later may crash when attempting to change Wi-Fi profiles.
Corrected Defects
- 118594 - Resolved an issue where a user would be unable to edit a DXU configuration file that had previously been saved with only modified changes. That is, if a configuration had been saved with "Include unmodified changes" checkbox left unchecked, that profile could not be edited properly.

dl_config.exefrom DXU Desktop as well as theScan2Deployfeature. dl_config.exe can trigger false positives in some anti-virus software packages, as dl_config.exe uses a popular PDF generation library that has unfortunately been utilized in some viruses as well. Since a portion of the file matches the signature of a virus, it is therefore falsely flagged by anti-virus software packages as potentially harmful. We apologize for any confusion or concerns this may cause, but dl_config.exe is safe to use on any version of Windows and contains no viruses. It is now available as a separate download. -
DXU service is disabled by default on Android 9 and newer devices. Please refer to the DXU user guide for more information on ways to enable the DXU service.

Enhancements
- Add support for Android reverse tethering. This feature allows a Datalogic Android device connected over USB (via ADB connection) to share the Internet connection of the PC running DXU.
- Add support for silent installs. DXU can now be installed silently from a command line. Also, 2 new check boxes are added to the DXU installer, which allow you to determine which Optional Software should be installed:
- Install ADB driver for Android devices
- Install USBLAN driver for Windows CE devices
- Add
--encodeonlyoption to dl_config.exe.
Corrected defects
- Fixed an issue where the device connection type & IP address were not being displayed in DXU version 2.0
- Remove unused "Enable logging" checkbox under Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Removed unnecessary popup message indicating presence of multiple instances of DXU running on the same subnet. This could cause issues with USBLAN connections in use.
- Fixed a regression which prevented you from configuring a device.

Enhancements
- Improved display of Device Info settings so that it only displays those items which apply to the device.
- Improved display of hot key information in DL Buttons. In particular, DL Buttons no longer lists hot keys that performed no action by default (requires WEC7 fw v1.70).
- Configuring Wi-Fi profiles for WEC7 devices has been improved with additional compatibility checks and dialogs that more closely match the device.
- For WEC7 devices, support has been added for audio settings and for decoding the DotCode symbology (requires fw v1.70).
- ADB and Fastboot tools have been upgraded.
- DXU user guide is now accessible in DXU from the main screen (button in bottom right corner) and from the Settings tile.

- The ESC key now functions properly in pop-up dialogs.
- Fixed an issue where tables would allow more entries than the device could support.

- [WEC7] Fixed an issue where some configuration controls could be disabled with a checkbox and could never be enabled again.

DXU Desktop Corrections
- Fixed an issue where DXU could not connect to a device with DXU Agent listening on port 8080.
- Fixed an issue where 1D barcodes generated by Scan2Deploy were cut off on the right side of the page.
- Fixed an issue where DXU's firmware utility window displays incorrect information about the connected Memor 10, showing information for a DL-Axist also connected to DXU.
- Fixed an issue where a user is unable to configure User Ids for Symbologies in DXU Desktop. The fix also requires Skorpio/Falcon X4 WEC7 1.50 firmware.
