Current Team Members

Ed is a Biomedical Engineer with a background in Mechanical Engineering. He is interested in improving rehabilitation and assistive technology for the benefit of those with movement disorders, and specialises in computer modelling to understand the biomechanics of human movement. He teaches Biomedical Engineering at the University of Aberdeen.

Outside of work, Ed is a keen amateur photographer and bicycle enthusiast. Find him on Twitter.

Dimitra is a Biomedical Engineer and Lecturer in Health Data Science at the University of Aberdeen. Her main focus is developing biomechanical models, to help understand the mechanisms of movement disorders and design effective rehabilitation treatments. She is also very interested in science communication and public engagement with research.

At home, Dimitra likes reading, baking, and planning cycling and camping holidays. She's on Twitter.

Professor Rory O’Connor

Rory is a Rehabilitation doctor, and the Director of the Charterhouse Rehabilitation Technology Laboratory at the University of Leeds.

Mr Simon Pickard

Simon is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital (RJAH) in Oswestry.

Dr Neil Postans

Neil is a clinical engineer responsible for the Functional Electrical Stimulation service (and many other things) at RJAH.

Mr Martin Seyres

Martin has a first degree in Physiotherapy, and an MSc in Biomedical Engineering. He is currently finishing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering at Keele, where he is investigating shoulder instability.

Dr Rosti Readioff

Rosti is a chartered engineer, interested in tissue mechanics and computational modelling of biological systems using both finite element and musculoskeletal modelling. She is currently working on the application of technology to support people with spinal cord injury.

She enjoys all sort of outdoor activities (i.e. walking, hiking and cycling) and anything that might involve spending time in nature. She is a seasonal 5k and 10k runner, and has previously completely a half marathon. Occasionally, she dabbles in photography and playing guitar. In general, she loves plants, birds, cats (although highly allergic to them) and mathematics.

Rachel Reddihough

Rachel is Project Manager for New Vic Borderlines. She has a special interesting in lighting design and creating new spaces using light. Rachel has been instrumental in creating the Cultural Animation methodology and creating exhibitions and workshops for many AHRC projects.

Outside of work she owns two horses and competes in Dressage and Cross Country.

Alice Faux-Nightingale

Alice is a Biology and Psychology graduate with past experience researching animal behaviour and welfare. More recently she has become interested in human experiences of movement disorders, and is currently looking into creative methods of engaging the public with research.

When not working, Alice enjoys playing the piano, painting, and working with fabric. At the weekends she can often be found out in the garden or spending time with her two cats.
