Banzai Bug - minimum device: Color MONO, Hardware OFF is not available - is the work abandoned or not?

I know this issue has been discussed at Vogons. I just wanted to know if there are any results or if everything is too complicated, and you abandoned and did not return to this? Is there any hope that this will be fixed or not?

I started to discover the problem but I forgot about it and abandoned.

Now I gave it a go again and solved the startup error problem. The game now starts, plays the intro videos but there are further problems, with the main menu (I can only see the background picture).
If I can resolve that too then the game will become fully playable on Win10. But I cannot promise anything.

Ok, I made some compatibility fixes in dgVoodoo and now the game can be run nicely on Win10.
There is a minor problem however: the main menu options are based on physical Win32 buttons placed as child windows on the rendering window. This is not compatible with D3D11/12 so they don't show up (not even in forced windowed mode).
You have to press buttons 'n', 'l' and 'q' to reach those options blindly.

Once you're in the game, you can switch to forced windowed mode and use the standard window menu (by pressing Alt) to access the game options (with D3D12 this all works even in fullscreen):

I'm not sure but maybe a patched exe will help with windows. At least with a native launch, everything works.
