Summary

Our mission is to develop and supply advanced IoT technology and services to the market and help entrepreneurs and enthusiasts develop innovative products. We are an all-in one IoT solutions provider that ranges from gateways, end node sensors to cloud computing. Company Information

Shenzhen RAKwireless Technology Co., Ltd. was established in June 2014. It is based in Shenzhen, China with an office in Beijing. Our collaborators span the planet from Asia (India, Philippines, Taiwan), Europe (Bulgaria and UK) and Americas (U.S.A., Colombia and Brazil) We are an industry-leading connectivity provider building our own infrastructure and modular edge products all around Low Power, Wide Area (LPWAN) technologies.

Product Information

Our main product areas are in IoT modules, LoRa gateways and node devices. We have over 50 products currently in active production. Please consult https://www.rakwireless.com/en-us/products for the full list.

RAKwireless has manufactured and shipped over one million devices including over 100,000 LoRa gateways. Amongst those are the original Helium Hotspot as well as our own current RAK Hotspot Miner.

Our current Helium product is the RAK Hotspot Miner, now counting over 12000 units active on the network: https://docs.rakwireless.com/Product-Categories/WisGate/RAK-Hotspot-Miner/Overview/ Originally retailing at $249.99

We are working on version 2, that will have the following upgrades:

  • A configuration button
  • New casing with closed access to the USB ports
  • A secure chip built into the Concentrator HAT

The new RAK Hotspot Miner is to be released around Feb 2021, retailing at $299.99

Both of these products use the Helium app for configuration.

We are also working on:

  • Lower cost Light Hotspot
  • High security Anchor Hotspot

Customer Support

For Helium products RAKwireless works in close collaboration with Cal-Chip Connected Devices to handle sales and first line support with more complex technical enquiries escalated to us.

We are also present on the Helium Discord on channel #rak-wireless as well as our traditional support mechanisms including our forum and e-mail support.

We aim to provide great customer service. We put all the experience and know-how in the field of IoT so we can answer your questions and offer our best product and services that is perfect for your application requirements.

Additionally our engineers and technicians span the globe, thus we can cover multiple time zones and provide 24/7 services.

As our distributor for Helium products Cal-Chip Connected Devices handles the immediate repairs and replacements through their own support team and distribution centers.

Hardware Security

For our current product, RAK Hotspot Miner and RAK Hotspot Miner v2 - and in line with the community consensus - we have adopted the ECC608 security element chip to increase the security of the swarm key.

For future products we are evaluating more options including other security element chips.

Manufacturing Information

RAKwireless is a major hardware manufacturer with good reputation for Service and Quality. Our R&D center, located in Beijing and Xi’an of China and manufacturing plants in Shenzhen offer a complete product development. Our suppliers include some of the biggest names in the industry, we only use major component suppliers with full part traceability. In terms of Helium hotspots we have already built over 25000 units.

Budget & Capital

RAKwireless and Cal-Chip Connected Devices are well capitalized companies and established track record of delivering products. We aim to ship 28000 hotspots by February.

Risks & Challenges

Sourcing components continues to be challenging in the current market – several supply chain issues affecting the whole industry – but we have secured enough stock to produce the quantities listed above.
