Hi Dan Flippo

I am using your team on my local fishing club webpage. I really like the layout and it has been working perfectly but we are now facing problems with IPAD IOS browser, the theme menu doesn’t work , you cannot select submenus. It does work on a iphones as long the menu is in Mobile mode, if I force the iphones browser to show the webpage as a normal webpage “no mobile mode” then I am facing the same problem here.

Do you have any idea why it doesn’t work, and are there any way I can change your theme to swap to mobile menu when a user is using a IPAD.

Looking forward to hear from you
/Peter

PS I am currently using the latest version of your theme

Peter,

I use an iPad myself with my congregations site and I have not had issues using the normal menu. The theme has JavaScript and CSS to enable support for touch screens. This code is also how it can support screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. You could change the resolution when the theme switches from destop to tablet and tablet to mobile using a child theme but I would like to better understand why the normal menu doesn't work on your iPad. Would you mind sharing your website address so I can see what is happening? I have a theory that your CSS or JavaScript is failing to load somehow. It would be somewhat difficult but not impossible for me to add a screen to change this setting but I would prefer not to because it would force a lot more CSS be included on pages inline instead of the static style.css file. The amount inline has been growing as I have provided the ability to customize more things like font sizes.

Hi Dan

Thanks for your fast feedback

I was a bit desperate yesterday as I had several users not been able to vote, so I already changed the resolution settings yesterday by adding following code "@media only screen and (min-device-width : 768px) and (max-device-width : 1024px) {....}" directly in the style.css, For now it is working, however I would like to understand the problem too, so I am willing to remove the fix some hours during one day next week, if you still are interested in to understand why the normal menu doesn't work on a iPad.

Just let me know a day/night "what is your timezone" then I will remove the fix "http://ny.o-s-f.dk/"

Btw, I am still on wordpress version 3.9 could that be the problem ??

Peter, would it be easier to send me a zip of your theme folder? I have an online testing environment setup at:
http://test.uuwp.org/

I could deploy your copy in a different folder and test it that way. The site is setup with the official theme unit test data which includes a large variety of situations to test.

It could be the version of WordPress. I run the latest, 4.1.1, but I don't go out of my way to have it break for older versions of WordPress. By using the server above, we will be able to check for that.
