Goal: allow DAML applications to be tested in a uniform way.

This is a placeholder ticket. Please take it apart into individual tickets once you start working on it.

Test features required for the Ledger API test service:

  • reset service
  • time manipulation service

The plan is to implement both of these local to a single Ledger API server, and not coordinate resets or time manipulation across the ledger. The reason for this is that it is very hard to find a uniform semantics for these features that works across all DAML on X ledgers.

Futher features likely required for easy testing of DAML applications in a portable fashion across all DAML on X ledgers:

  • Test Service API support for on-boarding parties on the ledger
  • Test Service API support for uploading packages that are visible ledger-wide

FYI: @francesco-da @cbaatz-da @dajmaki @timw-da @gleber-da -- note that this ticket was split off from #137
