You are absolutely correct! I am ecstatic to report that I am the developer of fifty thousand (very big) discord bots (recount pending), as proven by the blue "</>" badge on my Discord profile. I hope this helps clear up any confusions. Yours truly, |

is this satire or do you actually think a little svg on your discord bio made you somehow more trustworthy than people without it |

I 1000000% agree and support this, not only would it be a great way to verify it's your bot but it may also be a really good way to advertise your bot too |

Since the removal of developer badges, we’ve lost a reliable way to identify who actually builds the bots and apps we use daily. This isn't just about vanity; it’s about safety as well.
Right now, anyone can claim they own a popular bot, and "provide help and information" about it, and without digging through external links or support servers, it’s hard for the average user to disprove them or know any better.
While I will gladly admit the badge we lost was pretty easy to get for non-developers, and in a sense was kind of useless (it could have been changed, but alas), this suggestion would show who actually owns what, and develops what.
I propose Discord adds an "Owned Apps" widget to user profiles. Just like we have widgets for games, we should have a space to display which apps we own and develop, or are part of a team for.
Why this helps:
Anti-Impersonation: If the app isn't displayed in their profile widget, they aren't the owner. Simple.
Prevention: It stops "Script Kiddies" from pretending to be the architects of major projects.
Recognition: It gives real developers a place to showcase their portfolio directly on Discord.
Discovery: It helps users find other cool tools made by devs they already trust, and can help spread awareness of their apps.
Cleaner UI: Instead of cluttering the badge list in the mini profile, this provides a structured, distinct space for owned apps, inside the expanded profile.
Let's bring back recognition to developers who make discord what it is today, and do it in a much better way.
