Attendance: Robert Anderson, Radu Coravu, Kerry Langford, Bob Johnson, Bill Burns, Eric Sirois, Roger Sheen, Kris Eberlein, Jarno Elovirta, Bill Gamboa, Stefan Eike,

Item 1: Any updates about prior releases?

2.4.2 released today. 2.4.3 will be out at some point, milestone label is created in github. Jarno already working on some items to go in. Could have held 2.4.2 but wanted to hold to plan, and not sure how long new fixes will take.

Robert notes the backlog is growing again - have lots of newer ones (last couple months) without tags. Really want to try and tag everything with bug, feature/enhancement, support, etc (though support queries are usually closed pretty quickly).

Jarno: still have old versions (1.5, 1.6) -- binaries are still up at SourceForge. Should we create dummy releases for those in GitHub, upload binaries, so they're all in one spot? Could back date them using time stamp of original uploads. Or could use existing ones. Probably best to use existing ones - just upload the binary, give it a title. Will plan to do this.

Item 2: DITA-OT Development status and updates

2.5: Jarno added some coloring into command line tool output. Only works on Linux / OSX - highlights error messages in red. Can improve by using yellow for warnings. Started work on issues with key scopes. For example, duplicate files in different scopes, now works.

3.0: Nothing specific going on - always lots that could be done, ...

Item 3: Doc updates and plans, update on documentation call

Not much activity over the holidays. 2.4.1 release included new pages on customizing HTML. 2.4.2 has a few under-the-covers updates.

Would like to make some updates to topics on properties files. Have some issues open already about coverage here. Jarno and Roger sitting together now to go over it, which properties are used, which take precedence, etc.

Discussion continues about reorganizing top level of TOC in docs (user guide, dev guide, etc).

Item 4: Other topics

Robert has query about extension points that don't seem to work. They're in the preprocess which is something we often shy away from anyway. Very low priority - Robert was using these as a quick-and-dirty extension, already has a better one that goes on the end of preprocess. Jarno checked code, which seems like it should work. Robert will create a small sample and open an issue.

Google Summer of Code: suggested by someone at OASIS DITA TC. That person is also on DocBook TC, which used the GSOC to get some stylesheet work a few years ago. Will look into this further. Kerry has talked to some people at Google about this, it's a really nice program. Problem, as usual, will be finding someone to take on the mentoring aspect.

Item 5: Backlog discussion

Roger discusses - where do we stand, and how do we figure that out? Any visualization tools to show our progress over time? Haven't found much to use here, most of the good tools are commercial. Stefan suggests Waffle - Jarno looked into that at some point in the past, didn't see a lot of extra value. Since then it appears they've added throughput, burn down charts. Should take another look.
