Uppercase in page slugs #1324

Page slugs get lowercased upon saving, so there is no way to have a URL with uppercase letters. Consequentially, URLs with uppercase letters always result in a 404.

Possible solutions:

  • accessing a URL in uppercase, displays the page with the corresponding lowercase slug,
  • or, allow saving slugs in uppercase.

This would be very helpful. I'm trying to migrate an existing system with upper-case urls, and don't want to break links or fork django-cms.

I'm in favor of having non-case-sensitive slugs. seems like better UX for me.

But we should probably redirect to the all-lower-case version, duplicate content and all...

Redirecting to lower-case slugs would be great.
