I'm working on packaging django-cms for Debian and I've stumbled across the minor issue that there are lots of .pyc files shipped in the source tarball. Maybe this can be fixed in a future release.

Any pointers how we can fix that?

find . -name '*.pyc' -delete

Before making source tarball?

I'd do a git checkout-index -a -f --prefix=/destination/path/ to get a clean copy the the tree and then run python setup.py sdist upload from there.
