plugin documentation lacking in plugins/

Another alpha user comment:

"The README.md in the plugins directory should explains there what /plugins/ is used for and how to add one. It should explain perhaps this is the folder where plug ins need to be added to, if that is what it is for? Where it titles Installation and Usage there is no information of what the usage is. Basically, I can't find any example "
