Chef 10 has been deprecated for some time and we should set compatibility to Chef 11 or 12 and above for the next major release.

We're currently moving everything to Chef 12 for production and I'm eager to hear from any users of this cookbook if a move to Chef 12+ compatibility would greatly affect you.

This is no longer a question and will be something that will happen by Version 2.0 since Chef will officially be releasing Chef 13 in April. That will signal the end of life on Chef 11 so this cookbook and aim for Chef 12.1+ compatibility instead.

Closing this issue, the newest 3.0 version of the cookbook is only compatible with Chef 12+
