Jira issue originally created by user weierophinney:

Currently, nowhere on the website or in the manual does the project provide a list of the specific adapters supported. One should not have to browse through the code to find this information!

Comment created by @deeky666:

There actually is a list of supported drivers.

See: http://docs.doctrine-project.org/projects/doctrine-dbal/en/latest/reference/configuration.html

This doesn't seem to be complete, though.

How you found that is beyond me, Steve. That sort of information should not be buried in chapter 3 in a section on configuration -- it should be in a list of features in the introduction, so that users can find it immediately and determine if they can use the project in the first place.

Comment created by @deeky666:

Yes I share your opinion. This should be a primary information in the documentation. I will see if I can change that.

Sorry my mistake. This is not fixed.

Fixed in commit: 70c73d2

Now the supported vendors are mentioned in the introduction and there is another part in the platforms chapter providing more information about the specific platforms for each supported vendor.
