FaceTime also has Library Validation enabled, plus being an Apple application it is specially protected. It is unclear at this point what needs to be done to get it to work.
Duplicating the FaceTime.app bundle and removing code signatures from that allows selection of the camera, but selecting it LiveView is not engaged and the video feed stays on the built-in camera.
FaceTime also does not show all camera sources, eg. a connected iOS device shows up as a movie capture source in QuickTime Player, but not FaceTime.
