Are you sure about using GPL? I was thinking about using this app in a project that’s not commercial, but that’s also not opensource. I was thinking of contributing back, but not with GPL restriction.

I believe LGPL would be a better choice, because django apps, are just components of a bigger project (that might not want to follow your license).
