Rebasing the
fix-freebsd-buildbranch onto stable.Given how low risk this is, and how I'm sure the FreeBSD port maintainers would appreciate not having to screw with this to get it into the ports tree, it seems to me that there is good reason to merge this into stable before 5.0.
