Hey stranger, I'm Nico! π©πͺ
I am an avid Linux enthusiast and hobby developer from Germany After having found a deep passion for Linux and all kinds of FOSS projects, I'm now active as:
-
Maintainer at Garuda Linux. Here, I'm mostly maintaining the servers & some of their editions. I also take care of a lot of other stuff that needs to be done. If you love dark and blurry interfaces, the dr460nized edition might be something for you!
π Recently, I helped to migrate our Ansible-based Arch Linux servers to NixOS. We also provide a Piped instance amongst other web services. -
The lead maintainer of Chaotic-AUR, an Arch Linux user repository that also happens to be the repo of Garuda Linux. It can be used to prevent long compilation times of AUR packages that would otherwise take hours to complete. Since most packages are getting rebuilt hourly if updates are found, it is very easy to get always the latest packages and follow development processes.
-
Maintainer of Firedragon, a Librewolf fork that focuses on providing better KDE integration and saner default settings. Since I'm a huge fan of self-hosting services, it integrates some of our hosted services such as our own Firefox sync server, searX, and Whoogle.
My newest project is a fully self-documented NixOS flake for my personal machines. This includes a self-destructing rootfs on ZFS for my laptop, several other setups as well as automated building and deployment of custom derivations to Cachix via GitHub actions. It uses the GNOME desktop and is fully Gruvbox themed via Stylix.
I'm also self-hosting several open-source frontends of proprietary services such as Libreddit, Nitter, searX, Whoogle or Lingva - free for everyone to use.
