Couldn't find ionic.config.json file. Are you in an Ionic project?

Current behavior:
On running ionic start myApp tabs, I get the following error:

And also I am not getting ionic.config.json in myApp created from the above command.

Expected behavior:
The application should be created as mentioned in the ionic documentation and should create ionic.config.json as well.
