I guess the described problem still exists. Any chance to get this merged? |

@alexander-heimbuch this pull request was failing unit tests, so we would not merge until all tests were passing. Also we have an in-depth proposal for how to resolve issues with git clone, which mostly stem from github returning stale merge refs.
