Markdown renderer causing issues in CSS!

The CSS here is all valid, but unfortunately it seems that your JavaScript markdown renderer breaks the first comment (moderately dark grey) but not the second (#0f0) by replacing the * ... * with tags.

Presumably it makes little sense to evaluate standard Markdown syntax within <style> tags, so is there any chance this behaviour could be fixed?

P.S. Wow! Best. Online. Editor. Ever.
