Huzzah! This is my first plugin and I'm not quite sure if I got things right. I'm not even sure how it should be triggered but here it is! This is a plugin based on this idea https://duckduckhack.uservoice.com/forums/5168-plugins/suggestions/2817386-ted-talks. Thanks!

Oh the data provided by TED has a short summary included and I used that as the abstract and I was wondering if it is short enough for DDG. Here's an example: "As we expect more from technology, do we expect less from each other? Sherry Turkle studies how our devices and online personas are redefining human connection and communication -- and asks us to think deeply about the new kinds of connection we want to have."
Do they have a JS API? I could see a Spice plugin working for this but if not then fathead is probably good.
It looks like they have a JSON API: http://developer.ted.com/API_Docs
Whoa I totally missed that! Spice is probably better and I'll try working on that. Thanks!
@jagtalon No problem. I'm a big fan of TED (Who isn't?) so I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
Check out http://codecademy.com if you haven't already.
Thanks! I've been using it for a while. BTW, I read TED's API guidelines (http://developer.ted.com/guidelines) and I was wondering if a TED plugin for DuckDuckGo counts as a Non-Commercial product?
When in doubt ask them :)
@jagtalon It's always a good idea to get the approval in writing; I'd save the emails if you contact them.
Turns out that we have to "complete the submission form by 12AM ET on April 30, 2012". I think we have to wait for the public release of TED's API.
@jagtalon That's a bummer. What's the ETA on the public release?
I can't find it on their website. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
