Describe the bug
Some games don't launch with the Junk Store as it gives an error message like: Please launch game with the Epic Store Launcher. Internet connection required.

The game in question is F1 Manager 2024.

The game first fails because it needs the c++ runtime. I then used protontricks to install the c++ runtime (2022) but after doing that the game fails to launch with said error.

I tried:

• Restarting Steam Deck
• Launch from desktop mode
• disabling the EOS overlay
• Repair and update game
• Enable Easy Anticheat
• Reseting the launch options
• Reinstalling the plugin and its dependencies
• Changing compatibility to Proton Experimental

Other titles do launch just fine (like super meat boy).
This game has Platinum rating on ProtonDB so I assume it should be able to work.

Handheld device (please complete the following information):

• Device: Steam Deck,
• OS: SteamOS 3.6 (latest)
• Version 1.1.8

We have tracked this down to being an error within the Legendary codebase.

This is something that we will look into fixing when our dev gets the chance.

New Junk Store v1.1.9 in the Decky Testing store fixes this issue. Due to Legendary caching unfortunately, if you have already installed the game you will need to uninstall and reinstall for the fix to take effect.

Will leave this issue open until we are 100% sure the fix is working!

@obackhoff would you mind testing this when you get a chance? While it works for us, we want to make sure this issue is fixed for others.

Hi, I was just able to test the 1.1.9 version on the Decky Testing store and the problem is gone. I had already uninstalled the game so I actually don't know if it would have worked without it but the game launches now without that error :)

I will now close this isssue as resolved with the new update.
