Close Tabs with the middle button within chevron

Similar to Bug 156792 it would be very useful to close a tab with the middle button within the chevron list. The list should stay open after a tab has been closed and the item has been removed from the list. Several tabs can be close very quickly then.
At the moment I have to right click each item and click the Close button of the context menu.
However removing items by pressing DEL key already works but navigation by arrow keys is much slower.

google chrome also uses middle click to closes tabs. please provide a pull request.

looks like middle click is not available in Mac.
