We should develop guidance for a logo designer by early August.

My guidance is that the Triquetrum logo should include an image of a Triquetrum, see https://wiki.eclipse.org/File:TriquetrumDreistab_00-128px.jpg

We should discuss this at the next Triquetrum call, Wednesday, July 19, 11am Pacific

Thanks for following up on this Torkild. Yes, it would be great to aim for logos in place for projects that are part of the simultaneous release.

Here are details of the bugzilla covering the funding for logos: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=509175

Let's also add it to agenda at next meeting to discuss driving this forward.

Hi all,

One of the things we discussed was getting common branding in place.
So some projects already have logos, I believe ICE and DAWN.
Note that there is no requirement to change the logo on this occasion.
You may want to consider it, or maybe the logo will fit in just fine.

What we agreed upon was to find a set of matching colours and a style that
can be applied to all, so that there is an obvious theme when we see these presented together.
We understand The Eclipse Foundation will provide some funds to have this done.
What I’d like you to do is to let me know if your project wants a logo and also if there
is some particular artefacts or design elements you want to be in there.
Basically a short list of properties describing the logo, suitable for the
designer as a starting point.

I would like this to be in place for the October release, so I’m putting a deadline
for this to be the first of August. Hopefully we’ll only need a month or so
for the designer to finish the work.

We won't have time for a Logo before the 2017 Science release. See https://wiki.eclipse.org/Science_WG/2017_Release for notes about logos.

The image is intellectual property and so is subject to the Eclipse IP Due Diligence process. Whether or not a CQ is required, basically depends on who created it and under what circumstances.

As part of Bug #244 Create Triquetrum-specific Splash Screen, I will check in a simple temporary logo as:
./plugins/editor/org.eclipse.triquetrum.workflow.editor/splash.bmp:

splash

Here's a draft logo that I would like to put through CQ. It uses the public domain image from https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dreistab_00.jpg

Any comments on the above?
