The behaviour of org.alfresco.service.cmr.repository.MLText is not what users expect. Consider this scenario:

  1. User A sets cm:title to value Foo using a browser that has en_US as the locale.
  2. User B looks at the document properties using a browser that has de_DE as the locale. He sees no title!
  3. User B sets the title to value Bar.
  4. User A still sees the title Foo.
  5. User A changes the title to Baz.
  6. User B still sees the title Bar.

This is confusing.

We need a switch that can be used to disable this behaviour. If this switch is set, all access done to a MLText property should be done using a global default locale.

For Alfresco 5.2 this issue is fixed in our patched version of alfresco-data-model.
