Description of the problem including expected versus actual behavior:
Running elasticsearch -d and specifying a custom pid file causes a spurious error message.

Steps to reproduce:

Please include a minimal but complete recreation of the problem, including
(e.g.) index creation, mappings, settings, query etc. The easier you make for
us to reproduce it, the more likely that somebody will take the time to look at it.

  1. Run bin/elasticsearch -p /data/test.pid -d

Elasticsearch runs, the pid file is created, however output to console is as follows:
bin/elasticsearch: line 30: [: /data/test.pid: binary operator expected
