GPD

Real-Time Monitoring and Electronic Records System for Thymatron ECT Devices

On this Page

Introduction

GPD is a program that works with Thymatron ECT devices to provide users with a modern workflow, including real-time trace monitoring, a patient database, treatment data storage and review, clinical EMR interfacing via HL7, analysis of parameters over time, and data export to common formats.

For a more thorough overview of GPD's features, see the online Features page.

Download and Installation

GPD runs on versions of Windows from 7 onwards, including 8, 8.1, 10, and 11, on any computer with an x64-architecture processor.

Complete Distribution

The software is distributed as a ZIP file. Simply unpack it wherever you prefer, and execute the GPD shortcut to start the program. GPD is by default configured to run in portable mode, where all data and preferences are saved in the GPD folder itself, but if you have more complex deployment requirements, see the Configuration and Deployment wiki page.

Resolving Windows Issues

The first time you run GPD, you may be presented with a warning dialog saying the application is unrecognized. Click the "More info..." link in the dialog text, and then select the "Run Anyway" button that appears at the bottom.

If the text of GPD is uncomfortably small, you may be running on a high DPI display, and will need to enable display scaling. Navigate to the GPD\jre\bin folder and right click java.exe (or just "java", if Windows is not displaying file extensions). Choose Properties then the Compatibility tab, and click the Change high DPI Settings button near the bottom of the dialog. Select the Override high DPI Scaling Behavior checkbox, and select "System" or "System Enhanced".

You'll need to generate license information the first time you run the program. Enter the name of the user or institution in the License Name field, and then click Generate Key. The License Key field will be filled in, and then click Validate License to proceed to the Login window.

Update

To update GPD, extract the download ZIP as above, and copy these files from the new GPD folder to your current GPD folder:

lib\gpd.jar
resources\GPD.ver

When Windows prompts you that the files already exist, select the option to replace the existing versions.

Organization of This Wiki

Rather than documenting the program screen-by-screen, this wiki is organized into guides by the types of tasks a user might perform.

All users should read the Getting Started section to learn how to create a new user, add a patient, and collect treatment data. After that, one may skip to the particular task one wishes to perform.

The documentation for each task also describes the GPD Preferences that affect program operation in that area.
