I have a problem in which I map " in my after/javascript.vim:

imap <buffer> " '

which is our js coding style, but the opposite of what is needed for json. Is there any way to make vim-json take full control over *.json, so that none of the javascript settings apply to it?

do you have pangloss/vim-javascript installed?

Yes. And I see it claims *.json is javascript. Argh.

I install as git submodule, so I can fork and change, I guess I should report up to him?

Or do you have suggestion for how to prevent this ftype association?

no idea. just hit this issue myself

@eddiemonge I see you went and changed panglos/vim-javascript which was overriding our ftdetect. Nice! I think that closes this issue.
