I checked libreoffice's en_US.dic and its at 52,890 and firefox's en_US.dic is at 62,118 while SCOWL is at 48,623. Is there a way that we can try and combine the additional work together so nothing is being left out when these to projects start using SCOWL.

LibreOffice - http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/dictionaries/tree/en
Firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/united-states-english-spellche/

Please note that the Firefox dictionary you found is an addon, the official dictionary is part of Firefox, see https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/file/tip/extensions/spellcheck/locales/en-US/hunspell. However, the dictionary is currently in a state of flux; see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1133363.

Also please note that larger is not necessary better and that to do a meaningful comparison of the dictionaries you need to "unmunch" them to remove the affix flags.

Thank you for the clarifications. I have opened a bug report in libreoffice's bug tracker to ask them to integrate yours into it and hopefully their custom changes can be imported into yours for upstream.

I helped Mozilla upgrade to the latest upstream version, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1137544. I might be willing to do the same for Libreoffice if someone contacts me directly about it.

I am closing this bug as it not really an upstream issue. Please fell free to email me directly at kevina@gnu.org or add me to the CC list for any relevant bugs.

Unfortunately its not possible to CC on the bug report mentioned above without you registering with LibreOffice's bugzilla, so if you could register with bugzilla and add a comment to the bug report, and check the 'Add me to CC list' checkbox, that would be appreciated.
