A global filter would apply to any time a random not is opened with this plugin. It would allow for filtering out folders and tags. Anything more complicated than that gets a lot more complicated and I'd prefer to wait until the Obsidian devs expose the search functionality via the API to do that.

@erichalldev I would love this feature!

Specifically, in the settings page a global "excluded folders" and an "excluded tags" option.

Use case

  • Do not open notes with a particular tag, such as #norandom
  • Omit folders that contain non-human readable content, such as HTML templates
  • Omit folders that contain old content, such as Archive/ with the P.A.R.A. method

Thinking about this feature once a week :)

I, as a user, want to exclude certain folders from Random note, so that I can browse my knowledge base, omitting templates/org notes/old versions etc.
