IPA input

Espeak is able to output the IPA for a particular phrase, but there doesn't seem too be a way to use it as input, like you can with the internal phoneme alphabet. IPA is useful to take pronunciations from wikipedia, for example, and play them.

It would be nice if this were supported a suggested by the ssml standard

I was able to do this by converting IPA to espeak's phoneme mnemonics with the lexconvert.py script.

For example:

lexconvert.py --phones2phones unicode-ipa espeak "təˈmeɪtoʊ" | espeak
lexconvert.py --phones2phones unicode-ipa espeak "təˈmɑːtəʊ" | espeak

It seems that there is not a language file that would be able to speak the entire IPA (i.e. do no post-processing)
