Now that support for using the Swift language in embedded environments is gaining momentum (Apple recently posted a video about it), it would be really great if support for the Xtensa cores was upstreamed and made available to the Swift toolchain.

The description of this repo says “To be upstreamed.” I'm curious what the status of that is, and what it would take to make it happen. TIA!
